Frequently asked questions
How is this exercise database organized?
Every exercise is tagged with the equipment it requires and the movement pattern it belongs to: push, pull, legs, or core. You can filter by either, or search by name.
Can I filter to only exercises I can actually do?
Yes. Check off the equipment you own in the filter panel and the list narrows to exercises that only use what you've selected. Leave everything unchecked to browse the full database.
What do push, pull, legs, and core mean?
Push covers pressing movements like bench press and push-ups. Pull covers rowing and pulling movements like rows and pull-ups. Legs covers squats, hinges, and lunges. Core covers direct ab and trunk work.
Does this database power the workout plan tool?
Yes. This is the same exercise pool the workout plan and single workout tools select from, filtered by whatever equipment you tell it you have and your experience level.
What do the beginner, intermediate, and advanced tags mean?
Beginner exercises don't demand extra stability or coordination beyond the basic movement and carry low injury risk if your form slips. Intermediate exercises add one of those demands. Advanced exercises add both, or are inherently technical regardless of the weight used, like muscle-ups or deficit deadlifts.
